Our Story

Our Story

Made in America. Loved in Japan. Yours again.

This is the journey every head we sell has taken — and the standard we hold ourselves to.

Chapter 1 — Birth in America

The driver heads we curate were born in American factories.

Ping in Phoenix, Arizona. Titleist in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Cleveland and Cobra in design studios from California to Texas. Even the global brands — TaylorMade and Callaway — drew their first prototypes in Carlsbad.

These heads were engineered by American hands, for American players.

Chapter 2 — Journey to Japan

In the late 1990s and 2000s, Japan became the world's most demanding golf market. JDM Tour Spec heads — built specifically for the Japanese tour — and US Tour Issue heads — slipped into the hands of Japanese professionals through the global tour van network — created a parallel inventory the American retail market never saw.

Japanese golfers cared for these heads obsessively. Headcovers always on. Bags rotated indoors. Cleaning rituals after every round. The result: a secondary market of heads in better condition, with deeper provenance, than anything you'll find on the U.S. resale circuit.

Chapter 3 — Hand-Inspected

We read this market every day. When we find a head that meets our standards — model, loft, condition, provenance — we acquire it.

Then the real work begins:

  1. Authenticity Verification — Serial number, stencil pattern, font, weight signature checked against manufacturer references.
  2. Cosmetic Grading — Five-step scale: A+ (mint), A (minor wear), B+ (clean played), B (visibly played), C (heavy character). What you see in our 12 photos is what you receive.
  3. Structural Inspection — Face, crown, sole, hosel checked for cracks, dents, or compromised integrity.
  4. Loft & Lie Measurement — Measured by hand, disclosed on the product page, ±0.5° tolerance from manufacturer spec.
  5. Photo Documentation — Twelve photographs at 4K, indexed and stored. Your head's permanent record.

Chapter 4 — The Caddie's Pick

Then we ship — and we handle everything in between.

We ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): all customs duties, import taxes, and clearance fees are paid by us before the package leaves Japan. The customs paperwork, the import declarations, the fee schedules — that's our problem, not yours.

The listed price is the price you pay. No surprise charges at delivery. No hidden fees. No "your package is held at customs, please send $42" emails.

Your job is to open the box.

What This Means

A head in your bag with three full lives:

  1. Designed and built on American soil.
  2. Played and protected by a Japanese owner.
  3. Returned home — to you — through our hand inspection, with all customs paperwork and fees handled on our side.

That's the Caddie's Pick. The price you see is the price you pay.
