Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

Q1. How long until my head arrives?

Estimated 7–14 US business days from order placement to US delivery:

  • 1–3 days: order processing, sourcing confirmation if proxy-sourced, hand inspection
  • 1 day: customs documentation preparation
  • 3–10 days: international shipping (DHL Express International for most; USPS Priority Mail International as economy option)
  • 1–2 days: US customs clearance (we handle all paperwork and fees)

Q2. Are there any extra fees at delivery? Will I be charged duties or taxes?

No. The listed price is the price you pay.

We ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): all import duties, customs clearance fees, and taxes are paid by The Caddie's Choice before your package leaves Japan. You will not receive a "your package is held at customs, please pay $X" email. The carrier will not invoice you for any duties or fees at delivery.

What you pay at checkout = what your card is charged. Nothing else.

Q3. How do I track my package?

You'll receive an automatic email with carrier and tracking number when the package ships. For DHL Express, track at https://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking.html. For USPS Priority Mail International, track at https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction.

Q4. Do you ship to APO/FPO, PO Boxes, or US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.)?

Currently no — DHL and FedEx have restrictions on high-value sporting goods to those destinations. We're working on a solution.

Q5. Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes — Canada, Australia, and United Kingdom. Lead times and shipping fees vary by zone (see Shipping Policy).

Products & Grading

Q6. Why do you only sell heads, no shafts?

Because most serious players already have a builder, a fitter, or a strong shaft preference. Selling a head + shaft combo means making a fitting compromise. We don't want to compromise.

You'll find a recommendation on a trusted builder in our Inspection Process page if you need one.

Q7. What's the difference between JDM Tour Spec and US Tour Issue?

  • JDM (Japan Domestic Market) Tour Spec — heads manufactured for the Japanese professional tour and distributed in Japan only. May differ in face thickness, internal weighting, or hosel from US retail equivalents.
  • US Tour Issue — heads issued to PGA/LPGA Tour professionals, often bearing serial numbers or stencils not found on US retail releases. Tour van or pro shop liaison distribution.
  • Retail / Standard — standard production runs available through normal retail channels.

We tag each product page with its category.

Q8. How does your A+/A/B+/B/C grading work?

Grade What it means
A+ Mint or near-mint. No visible wear from normal play.
A Excellent. Minor marks visible only on close inspection.
B+ Very Good. Light face wear, minor sole scratches.
B Good. Visible play wear. Honest used clubhead.
C Fair. Heavy character. Priced accordingly.

Full details: Inspection Process Step 2.

Q9. Will you recommend a shaft for this head?

Email inspection@thecaddieschoice.com with your specs (swing speed, AOA, ball flight tendencies) and the head you bought, and we'll point you at a builder who can recommend the right shaft. We don't sell shafts, so there's no upsell motive.

Payment & Pricing

Q10. What payment methods do you accept?

  • All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB) via Shopify Payments
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay
  • Shop Pay (Shopify accelerated checkout)

We do not currently accept crypto, financing, or installment plans.

Q11. What currency are prices in?

USD. We display US dollars at checkout regardless of your location. Your bank or credit card may apply a foreign-exchange fee for non-US payments.

Q12. Why are some heads priced higher than others?

Three factors:

  1. Market rarity — JDM Tour Spec and US Tour Issue prototypes are scarcer than retail heads
  2. Grading — A+ heads are priced higher than B grades of the same model
  3. Provenance & sourcing cost — heads from specialist Tokyo pro shops command higher acquisition costs than general marketplace listings

The displayed price is final and all-inclusive: it covers the head, our inspection, international shipping, and all customs duties/fees.

Returns & Refunds

Q13. What's your return policy?

30 days from delivery for any reason, subject to: return must be in original condition, photographed before shipment, returned within 7 days of approved RMA, and inspected on return. Full details: Refund Policy.

This 30-day window is currently provisional and may be revised based on operational experience.

Q14. What if the head I receive doesn't match its grade?

We have a grading dispute process. Photograph the discrepancy within 7 days of delivery, email inspection@thecaddieschoice.com, and we'll re-grade against our original 12-photo dossier. Possible outcomes: partial refund (per published re-grading table), full refund + return shipping reimbursement, or no refund if our grading is upheld. See Refund Policy Section B.

Q15. What if the head is counterfeit?

Counterfeit Guarantee: If a third-party authenticator (OEM customer service, tour van technician, or recognized golf authenticator such as TXG, MyGolfSpy, or a PGA-certified club fitter) confirms in writing that a head we sold is counterfeit:

  • 100% refund of the purchase price
  • Return shipping reimbursed (up to $100)
  • Authentication fee reimbursed (up to $150 with receipt)
  • Valid for 180 days from delivery (extended from 30-day standard window)

Other

Q16. Can I visit your inspection bench in person?

We're a small operation in Tokyo. We don't have a public showroom. Email contact@thecaddieschoice.com if you're traveling through Japan and want to discuss something specific.

Q17. Do you do wholesale, bulk, or fitter program pricing?

Not yet. Email contact@thecaddieschoice.com if you're a fitter or shop and we'll keep you in mind for a future program.

Q18. Will you carry irons, wedges, fairways, or putters in the future?

Maybe. For now, driver heads are the entire product. We'd rather do one thing very well than five things adequately.
